How Were Toonami’s Ratings?
As you may know, it’s really important that the new Toonami block gets good ratings. Right now, the block is working with a shoestring budget, and they’ll only get the money for new shows if they get plenty of viewers. So how did it do?
The premieres of their new series, Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins, were both strong. Deadman Wonderland was the top rated in its time period for adults 18-24. The ratings in the time slot were up 14% from last year. Casshern Sins was rated #1 in its time slot for men 18-34 and 18-24. Apparently, ladies are not as big on Casshern Sins.
So how does Cartoon Network feel about the ratings? “It did OKAY,” said Jason DeMarcoin a Twitter status. “Not bad but not measurably better than the week before. We need to do better. Hopefully we will!”
You heard the man, Toonami Faithful! If you have friends who missed last week’s broadcast, encourage them to watch. Even if you’re not that into the show’s they’re currently airing, it’s important to tune in so that they can diversify their programming. Right now, Toonami’s not as good as it could be, but it’s back, and we can help make it great again.

TOONAMI - Beginning Saturday, May 26, Adult Swim brings back Toonami, the network’s popular block of anime programming. Airing weekly from midnight to 6 a.m. (ET/PT), in addition to the return of previous series featured in Toonami, Adult Swim is also developing new original anime programming for fans.

Just got around to watching The Avengers and decided to throw up a WEG for it. Oh man, I haven’t enjoyed a super hero movie like this since the first Superman with Christopher Reeve.
